So why Spoken Word & Standup as a category you ask? Good question. The breadth and depth of the releases that come out through Shout! Factory are indeed varied, but there are a small handful of CDs and DVDs that do not fit into a simple easy-to-define box. Case-and-point: Wallace Shawn reading his remarkable one-man play, The Fever, the Grammy nominated poetry box set, Poetry On Record, and The Curious Wit & Wisdom Of George W. Bush. By themselves, these are releases that do not necessarily warrant their own destination page, but are certainly compelling enough to require e that we have them up for you to find when exploring www.shoutfactory.com. These releases are not our typical fare, but are unique and definitely worth the time to dig in. Some will render you lifeless with laughter, while other will pique your imagination and spark your curiosity. All will provide a new perspective and a distinct voice. |
