Give Dad a Hug and a DVD
Father’s Day is just around the corner, so we thought we’d offer a few ideas up for the perfect Dad Gift. Your pop will flip for discs like Ironside Season 1, the Great Cars series, Golf Magazine Top 100 Teachers In America: The More Series and all the rest. Remember, Father’s Day is June 17.

Annabelle Gurwitch and Richard Thompson:
Out and About in LA

We have a couple treats in store for our Los Angeles pals. “In store” are the operative words here. On June 5, the venerable Richard Thompson graces Amoeba Hollywood with his presence. Mr. Thompson takes the stage at 7pm, performing songs from his new album, Sweet Warrior (out 5/29).

Then, on Thursday, June 9 at 7pm, Annabelle Gurwitch appears at Borders Westwood to meet, greet, Q&A and sign her new DVD, Fired! (out 6/5). The funny-as-all-heck film features an astounding cast of familiar names and faces, telling tales of getting the axe. She’ll have a few friends with her at this one, so make sure you get there early!

Shout!’s Gone Indie(r)
Big news around the Shout! offices. Partnering with LA-based band Earlimart, we’re launching a new imprint. We’re calling the venture Majordomo Records and plan to add new like-minded bands, with the help of the Earlimart crew. Their fifth album, Mentor Tormentor, comes out on August 21 and we can’t wait for you to hear it.

From Being a Freak & Geek to Getting Knocked Up
We’ve watched Seth Rogen go from being a fuzzy-headed high school misfit in Freaks and Geeks to a higher education co-ed in Undeclared to a caring, helpful pal in 40 Year-Old Virgin. Now, he’s about to grow up—and fast—in the new Judd Apatow film, Knocked Up. Apatow, also of the three aforementioned classics, writes, directs and produces the comedy that also stars Katherine Heigl. In addition, the film features lots of familiar faces from previous Apatow projects: Jason Segel and Martin Starr, both of F&G, as well as Jay Baruchel and Loudon Wainwright from Undeclared. Catch the film on the silver screen on June 1 and be sure your collection includes their early works.

Gonna Make You Sweat!
Keith Sweat is bringing his Sweat Hotel Live to Shout!’s CD and DVD roster on June 12. The king of New Jack Swing is joined by a who’s who of friends on two discs. We’re not above naming names. Sweat Hotel Live features Akon, Athena Cage, Da Brat, Johnny Kemp, Kut Klose, Jackie McGhee, Monica, Teddy Riley, Silk and Charlie Wilson. Seriously! You won’t wanna miss these.

New @ Shoutfactory.com
Don’t forget to visit shoutfactory.com regularly. We’re always adding new things to entertain you (and ourselves). The latest installment of Music and Melodrama is up, with Shout’s head of A&R recounting his brush with Pete Townshend at this year’s SxSW festival. Podcast #17 is also live, featuring ’70s star, Jim Croce.. Finally, the third episode of Popvision will amaze you. While you’re hanging out, free to express yourselves on our community message boards. Hope to see you soon!
