Red Sox Win And Matt Damon Rejoices
The 2007 World Series has found its winner, and they go by the name of the Red Sox®
. Boston waited 86 years for its last win and only three more this time around. Suffice it to say, the town is ecstatic and the “Curse of the Babe” is officially broken. As is our annual tradition, Shout! Factory, along with MLB Productions, brings all the excitement and suspense of the competition to DVD, just in time for Thanksgiving. Narrated by Academy Award®-winner Matt Damon, the disc features postseason highlights and in-depth interviews with the players, coaches and managers. Preorder this one fast. It promises to make any baseball-loving recipient overjoyed… unless they’re a Rockies fan of course.

Celebrate 50 Years of The GRAMMYs®!
Over the past five decades, the GRAMMY® Awards have celebrated the best of the best. Partnering with NARAS, the venerable organization behind the awards, Shout! is releasing seven Ultimate Grammy Collection CDs featuring some of the greatest songs in the following categories: Contemporary Pop and Contemporary R&B (both out on November 27), Classic Pop, Classic R&B, Classic Country, Contemporary Rock and Contemporary Country (all following on January 8). Each CD sports 16 hits that could double as a desert island picks set. Artists such as Eric Clapton, k.d. lang and Justin Timberlake grace Contemporary Pop, while Luther Vandross, TLC and D’Angelo appear on Contemporary R&B. Another perfect stocking stuffer! Don’t miss the special, My Night At The GRAMMYs® on CBS, November 30!

It’s Christmas, Of Course
If the shortened days haven’t clued you in yet, then the seasonal tunes in the local coffee shop will. It’s that most wonderful time of the year again. This year, we have the CD for all your Xmas needs: Darlene Love’s It’s Christmas, Of Course. This new CD from David Letterman’s favorite holiday artist includes covers of what we’re calling neoclassics. Check out the track list: “2000 Miles” (The Pretenders), “Thanks For Christmas” (XTC), “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” (John Lennon and Yoko Ono) and a whole lot more. And while we’re on the subject of Ms. Love, don’t miss her annual performance on Late Night With David Letterman on December 22 and a performance of “Christmas Must Be Tonight” on Live With Regis & Kelly on December 13.

Shout! Goes Country
Have you heard about our new partnership with the Country Music Hall of Fame®? This is great news for us and for all music fans! We’re combing their archives and dusting off a cornucopia of rare performances. We’re really excited about the first set of releases, which haven’t been seen for 30 years: The Johnny Cash Christmas Special 1976 and 1977. These two DVDs feature a cavalcade of stars such as June Carter Cash, Roy Clark, Merle Travis and Barbara Mandrell on the ’76 show and The Statler Brothers, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis on the ’77 program. Both are in stores now.

Gifts Galore From Shout!
It can be such a dilemma sometimes, picking apropos gifts for all the special people in your life. Shout! Factory simplifies the process for you by creating a handy-dandy Gift Guide right on our Web site. A few of our favorites include the just-released 6-DVD My So-Called Life box set (for lovers of outstanding TV), the 6-DVD Great Cars box set (for your favorite hot rod enthusiast) and the 4-CD box set, Vee-Jay: The Definitive Collection (ideal for the music connoisseur). These suggestions and more can be found at the Shout! Factory Store.

More CDs For Under The Tree
Just in case you’ve forgotten, we still have even more yuletide lovelies to cheer up the nog. Bootsy Collins gives us all something to groove to with Christmas Is 4 Ever, which features Snoop Dogg and Bobby Womack. The Marshall Tucker Band’s Carolina Christmas is a great album featuring a mess of down-home goodness. Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass’s Christmas Album is one of the most beloved holiday albums of all time and perfect to jingle your bells to. And let’s not forget Christmas With SCTV, which brings a lot of holiday cheer from the Great White North; and America’s Funniest Home Videos: Home For The Holidays, in which a thousand laughs are guaranteed. All of these releases will help make your December that much toastier.
